Friends in Life, Friends Again

On Saturday Mark left us, Herwig we lost more recently. Here is a picture of them together in better times at one of our summer socials. We hope that they are sharing a nice vintage together with some of our other members whom we have lost over the years.

Mark was a past president of the club. The club was an important part of his life and he enjoyed wine making to the fullest. Recently married,(worth a click) he and his lovely new bride had plans and hope to create a bigger and more fulfilling life for themselves.

A very outgoing and uplifting individual, he was big man with a big heart, he was a friend to everyone he met. He will be a friend sincerely missed. Mark, we wish you well in your new journey. Bye my friend.

Escape the winter blues and make your way to Italy by way of the annual El Dorado Home Winemaker?s Winter Social!

This fun celebration of tasty Italian food and our wonderful award winning wines will be on Saturday, January 28th from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m. at the Sequoia Restaurant. There will also be a vegetarian selection for those who prefer. Not only will we have great food and wine, but we?ll also have the ensemble Jazz Uncorked for some after dinner dancing!

Please let Kathy know at that time if you prefer the vegetarian meal as Sequoia needs to know. As always, there will be an awesome raffle throughout the evening. Donations of gift baskets and grapes are needed to make this the best raffle ever.

We now have established the mentor program. if you are a new member and feel you are not sure what you are doing in your wine making efforts, check the mentor page in the member section and contact a mentor close to you for advise. These are long time members of the club who have ribbons hanging in their wine rooms, so you will be good hands. You must logged in to gain access to the members section.
